Bhagyashree Biography

Bhagyashree Patwardhan is popularly known for her superhit movie Maine Pyar Kiya, opposite Salman Khan. 

PERSONAL LIFEShrimant Rajkumari Bhagyashree Raje Patwardhan was born on February 23rd 1969 to the royal family of Patwardhans of Miraj in Maharashtra. Her father is the Raja of Sangli, H.H. Meherban Shrimant Raja Vijaysinhrao Madhavrao Patwardhan. He has two more daughters, Madhuvanti and Purnima. 

She married Himalay Dassani, her childhood friend and has become a part time actor after marriage. She has two children. 

PROFESSIONAL LIFEBhagyashree made her acting debut in a TV serial called Kachchi Dhoop directed by Amol Palekar and then acted in a Telugu movie Maharatna Rana. In 1989 Bhagyashree came into the limelight after the success of Maine Pyar Kiya. She created great chemistry with Salman Khan in this movie.

This hit movie was then followed by many flops like Paayal (1992), Tyaagi (1992), Qaid Mein Hai Bulbul (1992) and Ghar Aaya Mera Pardesi (1990). She made her comeback with films like Maa Santoshi Maa (2003) and Humko Deewana Kar Gaye (2006). She did a number of TV serials and was in the Parag Sarees commercial.In 2009, she appeared in a Marathi movie Zhak Marli Bayko Keli(2009) and she was one of the participants in the famous dance show Jhalak Dikhlaja on Sony Entertainment Television. Her next release will be Red Alert: The War Within(2009), starring Sunil Shetty and Sameera Reddy.
